The alarm rang, but I had already been awake. It was the same routine everyday, I'd switch the alarm off, reminding me that I had duties. I stared at the ceiling for a moment, feeling numb, then I pushed myself to sit upright.
Grabbing my phone, I checked for notifications, a habit I wasn't able to get rid of. I didn't want to go, it was Tuesday, and I still alot of work to do as the CEO of the company.
Sometimes, I wonder why I even climbed the ladder. The anger that had fueled me to climb the hierarchy and become a tycoon has fused in the last five years. Now I was an empty, shell of a woman. The purpose of my revenge, had disappeared without a trace. And perhaps, my feelings had dulled over time.
Taking a deep breath, I got out of bed and took a bath, freshening up and getting ready for work. I wished I could take a day off. But the company never ran without effort. Too many sacrifices, and alot of dedication.
And maybe, in all that chaos, I forgot the entire reason I had started in the first place.
Until, the reason stood in the middle of my meeting room, a female secretary behind him, and still as arrogant as ever.
But this time, older, colder and who knows, maybe he'll ask for my forgiveness.
"Mr. Alexander Gray. What are you doing in my office?" I asked coldly, my eyes narrowed, masking my emotions until he saw nothing except indifference.
He smirked, as if he hadn't destroyed me all those years ago. He leaned against my chair, drank my coffee and had the audacity to keep his filthy hands on my table.
"Revenge."

Hey guys! I just started writing on scrollstack, my novel is actually up on wattpad. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed writing it.
